📝 How do you write an invitation letter for an Australian visitor visa?

The invitation letter by a family member or friend is to help vouch for you and your genuine intent as a tourist in Australia. The Department of Home Affairs wants to see the invitation letter communicate¹:

• The friend or family member’s relationship to you
• The reason you are visiting
• How long you are staying
• If you are staying with them or have alternate accommodation
• If your friend or family member is funding your stay and evidence of their means to support your stay financially.

The letter is to be written in a formal letter format and signed by the person inviting you. In addition, the letter should include information on the person writing the letter. This can include information like:

• Full Name
• Date of Birth
• Full address
• Phone number
• Status in Australia as a citizen, permanent resident or visa holder

Plus it should contain information to identify you as the applicant, like your passport number.
