Do Indians need a visa for Bali?
Indonesia offers a Visa-on-Arrival facility for Indian passport holders to visit Bali for tourism. This visa is only for tourist activities and you can stay for up to 30 days. If you want to stay more than 30 days or for any other reason than tourism, you must obtain the Bali Visit Visa B211A.¹
Types of Visas for Indonesia
Indian citizens can apply for various Bali visas, including Visa-on-Arrival, longer-stay tourist visas, multiple entry visas, or for work. Each visa has different requirements and validity for a stay in Indonesia.²
Indonesia tourist visa for Indians
There is a Visa-on-Arrival (B213) for Indian passport holders who are heading to Bali as tourists. You can get this visa at the airport immigration counters after entering Indonesia, or you can also apply for it at the Indonesian embassy in India 14 days before embarking on your Bali trip.³
The tourist visa can come in multiple forms, depending on the length of stay, entries into the country, and its validity:

You are not allowed to work or earn money on a tourist visa in Indonesia. However, the tourist visa can be used for meetings, conferences, buying goods, and visiting family or friends.
Indonesia work visa for Indians
Indonesia offers a work visa (C312) for Indian citizens looking to work in the country, including in Bali. The visa allows for a maximum stay that ranges from 180 days to up to two years, depending on the type of work.
To apply for a work visa you are required to have a letter of guarantee from an employer and you may be asked to show you have the currency equivalent of USD 2,000 to cover your stay in Indonesia. 4
You will also need to be issued an NPWP number for tax identification.
How much does a visa to Indonesia cost?
The Indonesia visa fees for Visa-on-Arrival are payable online through a credit card before leaving India or at the airport arrival hall.

The multiple entry visa fee is a combination of the visa approval fee and an annual visa fee of IDR 3,000,000.
Indonesia visa requirements for Indian citizens
Here are the requirements for Indian passport holders to get an Indonesian visa:
- A valid passport with a validity period of at least six months.
- You must have a return ticket to India, especially for tourist visas.
- Visa application form and Visa fee payment receipt.
- You must show access to money to pay for your stay in Indonesia.
- You must comply with all visa conditions and Indonesian laws.
- Proof of employment, if applicable.
- Proof of accommodation, if applicable.
How to apply for an Indonesian visa
Indian passport holders can apply for an Indonesian visa online at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Directorate General of Immigration website.
Here are the steps to follow to apply for an Indonesian travel visa before leaving India:⁶
- Access the website visa application page.
- Register for an account by providing your details.
- Upload your photograph (4 x 6 cm with a resolution of 400 x 600 pixels).
- Provide information about your passport and upload a copy.
- The visa will be electronically linked to your passport.
- Identify the correct type of visa and apply for it online.
- Prepare and upload the required documents.
- Pay the visa fees using a Mastercard, Visa, or JCB credit or debit card.
- Upon approval, you get a link in your email to download the visa.
Visa-on-Arrival is issued at the Immigration counter at the airport after landing in Indonesia. Submit your documents, pay the fees, and get your Visa-on-Approval stamped. This visa is valid for 30 days in the country.
